Design and goals of phase 2 experimentation activities
The MS14 technical reports is available in the technical reports area of the website.
MS14. Phase 2 experiments designed and slices allocated. Experimentation can start.
In phase 2 of IRATI two testing goals are targeted. The first is an extended use case scenario that will be performed. It consists of two customers that set up two VPNs (DIFs) to interconnect application instances in their own infrastructure with applications instantiated in a datacenter (DC). The experimentation scenario is designed to verify the capability of RINA to provide independent, customizable, self-contained networking domains to different customers; using the same building blocks with a different configuration. In order to realize this scenario, two extra OFELIA islands were used, since the scenario comprises four management domains, and three unique topologies. The TUB and ETHZ islands were deemed most appropriate for this scenario. This also shows a more realistic scenario, since the islands are further apart from each other. Reliable flows and routing are new features that were introduced in the stack which will be tested by performing this scenario.
The second testing goal is to test the shim DIF for Hypervisors (see also D2.3).
