Come and visit our booth at FIA 2014!
Next week we’ll be demonstrating the IRATI RINA stack a the Future Internet Assembly in Athens. The FIRE group has been very kind to provide an exhibition space to each of the different projects funded under this unit to showcase the current results of their research, calling the overall event “Hands on FIRE“. Moreover, FIRE is organizing a series of pre-FIA workshops discussing testbed interoperability, the evolution of FIRE, social networks and big data.
FIA brings together more than 400 European Internet scientific and economic actors, researchers, industrialists, SMEs, users, service and content provider representatives are expected to attend, deliver new ideas, and share views, aiming at advancing activities for reshaping the Future Internet. The full program for the conference is available here.
We will be demonstrating the simplicity and flexibility provided by the RINA structure compared to the current Internet architecture. The demo will be featuring a mock-up of a Virtual Private Network spanning three management domains: the customer network, the network service provider network and the datacentre network. The demo will show how the VPN – implemented using the same building blocks as the three underlying networks – allows applications in the customer network to communicate with applications in the datacentre network. The physical resources of two OFELIA islands (i2CAT and ETH-Zurich) will be used to support the IRATI demonstration.
